Born and raised in the region, Aislinn is a city councillor for Ward 10 in Kitchener. She earned a degree in Business and a Master’s degree in Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University and throughout her career has worked to improve the lives of marginalized youth and families in her community. Aislinn’s ability to actively listen to people of her community and her understanding of the issues that face them will make her a strong voice for the citizens of Kitchener Centre.

Aislinn comes to the challenge of representing Kitchener Centre with valuable experience as a professional, volunteer, activist, academic and city councillor. In her role as a social worker for the Waterloo District Catholic School Board, Aislinn walked with people on their journey to stability, well being, and belonging, observing key issues in the community. She has supported newcomers by developing refugee youth and family programming for the YMCA in Kitchener. She shifted to settlement work at the Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture, guiding immigrants of many cultures to find a sense of place and lead healthy lives after fleeing war. These experiences are invaluable in shaping Aislinn’s efforts in helping newcomers to Kitchener feel safe, valued and welcome.

Aislinn has dedicated countless hours to making our community equitable and sustainable. In our current climate crisis, she wants to do everything in her power to be able to tell her kids, “I helped create change.”

Aislinn brings hope to all those she serves, working to find solutions to big challenges. She looks forward to continuing to build relationships with all partners in the city because she believes we are stronger together.
