For the past seven years, your government has ignored the needs of people in rural Ontario to spend billions on wasteful projects in the GTA, including Highways 413, tunneling under the 401, and building a mega-spa on Ontario Place. Meanwhile, rural communities across the province have been abandoned. Abandoned to face sky-rocketing energy costs, insufficient funding for rural healthcare, and to suffer the devastating consequences of climate change. I’m calling on you to take immediate action to support the Ontario Greens’ plan to address five key challenges facing rural communities today and put rural Ontario back on the map by: Addressing housing affordability and homelessness in rural communities Expanding rural health care access Supporting Ontario’s food and farming sector Protecting the places we love Launching a rural infrastructure fund Rural communities play a vital role in Ontario’s local economy and have so much more to offer.
